Released in 2012, the IPEDS Trend Generator is NCES’ newest, cutting-edge data analysis and dissemination tool. While the Data Center includes a trend analysis feature, this report is designed specifically to allow users to track the value of a single IPEDS variable over time.

The Trend Generator is a flexible tool that allows institutional researchers and policy makers to perform more sophisticated trend analysis within a highly user-friendly framework. Designed to provide users with a quick and easy means of viewing frequently accessed IPEDS data over time, the application gives users the freedom to choose their own unique data components, build customized tables, and trend any data point of interest across all available data years.

In 2016, INOVAS redesigned the IPEDS Trend Generator to be a more robust and mobile-friendly tool. A demo version of the latest IPEDS Trend Generator can be accessed online at: http://demos.inovas.net/tgi/.
